What is the Hokkaido Cheer Network?
Ready, let’s go,Cheer Squad Hokkaido
150 years have passed since the land we call home was renamed Hokkaido.
Now it’s our turn. The next 50 years are our time to step up, engrave ourselves in history, and show respect for the ancestors of our memories.
There are more than a few issues to be solved. But at the same time, there is also great potential waiting to be discovered.
In order to open up a new era for Hokkaido, I came up with an idea: we can gather power from those who are not only current residents of Hokkaido, but also those who once lived here. And even going beyond these two categories; from those who love this land.
We need your power.
To realize a more vibrant Hokkaido that moves dynamically forward.
To realize a Hokkaido that’s a wonderful region representing Japan and the globe.
SUZUKI Naomichi, Governor of Hokkaido

What is the Hokkaido Cheer Network?
From abundant nature, and safe and secure foods which are fostered in the Northern land, to diversified cultures rooted in the region, these are what we, the people of Hokkaido, are proud of, and treasures, which we firmly believe, should be passed down to the next generation. In this line of thought, I decided to set up the “Hokkaido Cheer Network” in which those individuals, entities, and organizations who have some relation or attachment to Hokkaido, those who consider themselves as the cheer squad of Hokkaido, can gather together to use their collective wisdom and power to solve various issues that we currently face.
To realize a Hokkaido that continues to be a Northern land full of charms, I would like to call for as many people as possible to participate in this network.
